Dr. Adam Muzychuk MD BSc FRCSC
Dr. Adam Muzychuk MD FRCSC is a cataract and refractive surgeon with fellowship training in anterior segment surgery. Dr. Muzychuk completed his residency training at the University of Calgary and fellowship at the University of Montreal, before starting practice in Calgary in 2016. Dr. Muzychuk is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Calgary, the Scientific Meeting Chair for the Eye Physicians and Surgeons Association of Alberta, and the Skills Transfer Course Director for Cornea and External Disease for the Canadian Ophthalmological Society.
Throughout his ophthalmology career, Dr. Muzychuk has been active in research, having published in several leading journals, and participating in Health Canada and FDA regulatory trials. Dr. Muzychuk has garnered recognition for his significant contributions to the field, including Best Paper of the Session at the ASCRS Annual Meeting, Best Glaucoma Paper from the Canadian Glaucoma Society, and the Master Teacher Award for Resident Physician Training and Education from the University of Calgary.
Dr. Muzychuk has presented across Canada, the United States and Europe on advanced surgical techniques, planning, and emerging technologies in cataract and refractive surgery. Dr. Muzychuk’s current research focuses on the surgical management of astigmatism, particularly surrounding the deployment of low and ultra-low power toric lenses for the refinement of refractive outcomes of IOL-based surgery, in addition to active participation in clinical trials on new and emerging technologies.
In addition to a high-volume cataract, refractive and anterior segment practice, Dr. Muzychuk is an active teacher in the University of Calgary residency training program as well as in undergraduate medical education.
